On Saturday March 30, 2019, the Full Style boutique held its second fashion show in Honea Path, South Carolina at the Watkins Community Center. This show revealed new trendy garments just in time for the spring.
The owner of the Full Style Boutique T’Andria Latimer; has prepared for this show for the last seven months to make sure that the show along with the new items are polished and perfect.
Latimer created the Full Style boutique to dress full figured women in the latest fashion trends at a reasonable price. She began to create her dream while she was in college and wanted to keep plus size women motivated.
“The hardest part about getting things ready for this show is trying to get everyone to understand your purpose when you’re so passionate about it,” said Latimer.
Labarbara Martin is one of the many women who was inspired by Latimer’s platform. Martin was also one of the models featured in the fashion show.
Martin has been featured in many fashion shows in the past. She is an inspiring model using every opportunity to reach her goal as a full-figured runway model. Martin was recently selected to train with a selected model from America’s Next Top Model.
“I create my own lane and try not to be cliché to what society’s standards of what a plus size model is,” said Martin.
The fashion show featured eight full figured women who have also practiced and dedicated time and hard work to making this fashion debut very memorable.
The model coach Angel Wheeler was former Miss Black South Carolina in 2018. Wheeler has helped to critique and mold the women on how to grace the runway and steal the show. During the many practices Wheeler has also helped the women to find confidence within themselves.
“The biggest thing for models and for people in general to conquer is confidence, “Wheeler said. “Models are supposed to be the most confident but we find that everyone has issues with confidence,” she continued. “My job is to help instill confidence within these women on the runway and in life.”
The show filled the Watkins Community Center. Many guests came from near and far to support the models and view the spring arrivals.
Latimer plans to have many more fashion shows to show case for the public. Martin also plans to continue persue her dreams as a runway model.
